Ambassador Ogutu was amongst the special guests during the Rotary International District 2750 Conference held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa from February 26 -27, 2014. The two-day event was attended by more than 1000 international delegates from Japan, South Korea, Guam, Saipan, Palau, Micronesia, United States, and Philippines.

The gathering was held on the occasion of the 110th Memorial year of the launch of the first Rotary Club in 1905. With the theme of "A New Wind", it aimed at re-invigorating and expanding the Rotary activities aimed at achieving a world rooted in peace, ensuring better international understanding and improving the livelihoods of the disadvantaged lot as well those in distress. Presentations were made by several luminaries including the Governor of the Rotary International District Ms. Isako Funaki who also addressed the Conference and reported on the District's current status. The Commemorative Speech on the final day was delivered by Hon. Shinjiro Koizumi, Parliamentary Secretary of Cabinet Office/Parliamentary Secretary for Reconstruction and Member of the House of Representatives.

During the closing reception, Ambassador Ogutu awarded special Certificates of Commendation to the Governor of Rotary International District 2750 and the Presidents of various Tokyo-based Rotary Clubs of Hiroo, Shirokane, Denenchofu, Choushin, and Musashi Fuchu.

While presenting the Certificates, the Ambassador commended them for their noble humanitarian activities around the world including the provision of fresh and clean water to the needy communities in Kenya. He assured them of the Embassy's full support and cooperation in all their noble endeavors and wished them success in future undertakings.
