His Excellency the Ambassador had a working tour of Nagoya from 26th to 27th November, 2015. The City is the Capital and industrial hub of Aichi Prefecture. It is also home to Toyota Automobiles industry and the Toyota Tsusho Corporation. On 26th November, 2015 His Excellency, accompanied by the First Counsellor, Mr. Julius Kithamba met and briefed Kenyan professionals resident in the area on developments back home. They also deliberated on strategies for attracting investment to Kenya by a wide range of SMEs established in the Prefecture.

On 27th November, 2015 H.E. held discussions with Mr. Jun Karube, President of Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Kenya's Honorary Consul in Nagoya and also paid Courtesy Call on Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, the Governor of Aichi Prefecture in his office in Nagoya.

The Ambassador seized the opportunity to brief the two leaders on the deepening of cordial relations between Kenya and Japan, including current areas of cooperation and ongoing programmes. In particular, he gave a deep brief on the TICAD VI Summit to be held in Nairobi in 2015, confident that Japan would field a large private sector contingent to the Conference. In this regards he requested the Governor and the Honorary Consul to support the Embassy in organizing a business Seminar in Nagoya ahead of the Summit, to encourage SMEs in the Prefecture to invest in Kenya.
