Kenya Business Seminar was held in Osaka on 27th June, 2016. The Seminar was organized on the occasion of a visit by Ms. Heather Munyao, Investment Promotion Officer, Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) to Japan, by United Nations Industrial Development Organization's Investment and Technology Promotion Office, Tokyo (UNIDO ITPO Tokyo). It was co-organized by the Embassy, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Japan External Trade Organization Osaka and Japan International Cooperation Agency, Kansai with the support of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Kansai Bureau.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Paul M. Kaliih, Minister Counsellor informed the Osaka business community that the TICAD Ⅵ Summit would be held in Nairobi from 27th to 28th August, 2016 and noted that Kenya had grown into one of the best destinations for trade and investment from all over the world.
Key officials from the public and private sectors of both Kenya and Japan together with UNIDO ITPO Tokyo, delivered presentations on various topics, including "Kenya-Unlocking Technology and Business Opportunities" by Nathaniel Agola, Associate Professor at Doshisha University, "Business Climate and Opportunities in Kenya" by Ms. Munyao from KenInvest, "Importing High Quality Roses from Kenya" by Ms. Megumi Hagiuda from Africa Rose, "Joint Venture in Kenya: a Feasibility Study on Instant Noodle Business" by Mr. Yuichi Nakmura from Nisshin Foods Holdings Co., Ltd. and closing remarks by Mr. Hiroshi Kuniyoshi, Head of UNIDO ITPO Tokyo.
More than 70 participants mainly from the private sector around Osaka who attended the seminar indicated keen interests in doing business in Kenya.
