PRINCIPAL SECRETARY FOR SPORTS, AMB. PETER K. KABERIA VISITS KURUME CITY (HOST CITY) FOR PRE-TRAINING CAMP DURING TOKYO OLYMPIC & PALALYMPIC 2020

Principal Secretary of Sports, Amb. Peter K. Kaberia accompanied by Amb. S.K. Maina, MBS, Lt. Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei, President of Athletics Kenya and Mr. Shadrack Maluki, Vice President of National Olympic Committee visited Kurume city from 13rd to 15th May, 2019. The visit was a follow-up to the first visit in August 2017 when an MOU was signed between Kenya and Kurume city which formularized Kurume city as the Host City for Kenya’s Olympic Contingent Pre-Training Camp for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Further engagements included calling on Mr. Tsutomu Okubo, the newly elected Mayor of Kurume city, meetings with Mr. Yasuto Motomura, Chairman of Kurume Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and conducted tours of the training and residential facilities.
