H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta poses with other African Head of States
His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya attended the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) held from 28th – 30th August, 2019 in Yokohama, Japan.
On the side-lines of TICAD7, H.E President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held bilateral talks during which the ongoing roll out of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) programme and the development of the Mombasa (Dongo Kundu) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) were the main subjects of their discussions.
The two leaders also discussed ongoing United Nations reforms with President Kenyatta asking his host for Japan's support for Kenya's bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
