KENYA GOVERNMENT EXTENDS CURFEW FOR A FURTHER 21DAYS TO CONTAIN SPREAD OF COVID-19 IN THE COUNTRY

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya wishes to inform that the Government of Kenya has extended period of enforcement of measures to contain COVID-19 in the country as follows;

  1. That the cessation of all movement by road, rail or air into and out of: (a) the Nairobi Metropolitan Area; and (b) the counties of Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa that is currently in force will be extended for a further containment period of 21 days; with effect on Monday, 27th April, 2020.
  2. That if the increase in cases of infection in counties of Mandera, Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa does not reverse, more stringent measures will be taken in consultation with concerned County Governments
  3. That the nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew that is currently in force will be extended for a further period of 21 days; and
  4. That to ensure that porous borders and SECURITY THREATS do not compromise the country’s response to this pandemic, the security services will upgrade their alert and response measures in every border area
