The Embassy participated in Tourism EXPO Japan 2020 in Okinawa which was held from 29th October to 1st November 2020 at the Okinawa Convention Center. Tourism EXPO Japan is the largest annual travel and tourism exhibition in Japan.
The EXPO provided a platform for networking with the travel and tour professionals as well as direct interaction with public to promote Kenyan destination. The visitors were introduced to Kenyan renowned products such as Kenyan tea by tasting and pouches made of Kanga.
The Embassy communicated the attractiveness of Kenya by directly interacting with the general public in Okinawa through tasting Kenyan tea and introducing traditional Kenyan cloth kanga at the booth,
The organizer shared a safe and secure event model for the new age, bringing a new form of tourism to help revive the struggling tourism industry. 285 companies and organizations from 30 countries and regions around the world participated, and the total number of visitors for the four days of the event reached a total of 24,080.
