Kenya-Japan Quality Infrastructure Dialogue hosted by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Japan (MLIT) co-hosted by Kenya Embassy Tokyo was held online from 26th to 27th May 2021. During Day 1, the opening remarks were made by Mr. James W. Macharia, EGH, Cabinet Secretary of Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works Kenya along with Hon. Jiro Hatoyama, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the MLIT and Mr. Yoichi Miyamoto, President of Japan-Africa Infrastructure Development Association (JAIDA).
The three speakers emphasized the significance of Infrastructure Development and the need for continued collaboration between Kenya and Japan for mutual benefit. The dialogue attracted over 180 and 170 participants on both days with prospective Japanese investors as well as public and private sectors from Kenya.
H.E. Amb. Tabu Irina, MBS, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Japan and H.E. Amb. Ryoichi Horie, Ambassador of Japan to Kenya also participated at the Dialogue.
