Amb. (Dr.) Amina C. Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage met with Mr. Yasuto Motomura, Chairman of the Kurume Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Embassy on 24th July 2021. Also present in the meeting was Amb. Tabu Irina, MBS, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Japan.
The two sides held discussions on potential areas cooperation centered on the sports sector. In their remarks, the Chairman and executive members of the Kurume Chamber of Commerce and Industry reiterated their support for Team Kenya so as to ensure their success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games.
The Cabinet Secretary conveyed the appreciation of the Government of Kenya to the Chairman and Kurume City for the warm hospitality and support accorded to Team Kenya. The Cabinet Secretary highlighted the support and role of the Kurume Chamber of Commerce and Industry in further facilitating the Team.
The Cabinet Secretary and the Ambassador assured the Chairman of the continued support of the Government of Kenya and the Embassy to further enhance cooperation in the areas of business investments and cultural exchanges.
