H.E. Amb. Tabu Irina and Mr. Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
H.E. Amb. Tabu Irina paid a Courtesy Call on Mr. Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on 23rd August 2021. H.E. the Ambassador expressed her appreciation for continued support from JETRO in promoting Kenya as a preferred destination for Japanese investors through their research, trade and investment activities. H.E expressed her desire to enhance the relations between JETRO and Kenya Embassy and called for continued support and cooperation from JETRO especially by involving the embassy in their activities with the government of Kenya.
Mr. Sasaki noted that Japanese business community is looking up to Africa to expand their businesses and they are focusing on Kenya because Kenya is not only strategically located to serve as a gateway to Africa but also well endowed with both natural and human resources. The Chairman further noted that the number of Japanese companies in Kenya have been growing over time and now stands at 89. The Chairman and Mr. Kazuya Nakajo, Vice President noted that JETRO looks forward to the upcoming 2nd Japan-Africa Public-Private Economic Forum scheduled to be held in Kenya in December 2021 in which Japan is expected to have a big high-level delegation.
H.E. the Ambassador and the Chairman affirmed their future cooperation to enhance the relations between the two offices to further promote business engagements between Japan and Kenya.
